Lash Lift - Lash and Brow
Description
A lash lift is a semi-permanent beauty treatment that enhances the natural lashes, making them appear fuller and longer. The treatment works by using a chemical solution to alter the structure of the lashes, making them lifted or curled. It’s a great alternative for those who don’t want the maintenance of eyelash extensions but still want their eyes to pop.
Here’s a brief overview of the lash lift process:
- Preparation: Your lashes are cleaned and separated, then an adhesive is applied to secure your lashes to a silicone pad or shield that’s placed on your eyelids. The size of the pad/shield used depends on the desired amount of lift and the length of your natural lashes.
- Lifting: A lifting lotion, which is essentially a gentle perm solution, is applied to the lashes. This softens the bonds of the hair shaft, making them pliable. The solution is typically left on the lashes for 6 to 12 minutes.
- Setting: A setting solution, or “neutralizer,” is applied to the lashes, which hardens the bonds and sets the lashes in their new shape. This is typically left on the lashes for the same amount of time as the lifting solution.
- Optional Tinting: After the lifting and setting solutions are removed, a lash tint can be applied to enhance the color of the lashes.
- Conditioning: Finally, a conditioning solution is applied to the lashes to break up any residual product and to add moisture back into the lashes.
The entire process typically takes about 45 minutes to an hour, and the results can last anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your lash cycle and how well you take care of your lashes post-treatment.
It’s important to note that you should avoid getting your lashes wet or applying mascara for 24 hours after the treatment to ensure the lift sets properly. Always make sure to have a certified and trained professional perform a lash lift to ensure the best results and to avoid damage to your natural lashes.
