I saw dr Jacobsen and had a basal cell carcinoma removed. It was in a special and only tattoo I have and I was concerned with the scarring and ruining of it. I ended up with a 2inch incision and she did a beautiful job to insure the least damage. After all was done,you can’t even tell! Also, the staff, doctor and nurses are great about information and putting you at ease with such a scary word as cancer. They will always be my favorite medical “family”! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have never had a doctor so kind. He goes out of his way to make me feel respected & taken care of. He never makes me feel like I am an inconvenience. He went out of his way during his vacation to grab me a couple keys chains.. Who does that…. I will always recommend him to ANYONE who may need his services… He ROCKS!!!!!

I originally had an unfortunate experience based solely on communication. After posting a review about this experience, I was immediately contacted by Sidney, who talked with me about my experience and offered a little information and a sincere apology . I appreciated her directness, her honesty and willingness to “make it better”. I am so glad I accepted her invitation to try again. I truly enjoyed getting to know her and the services she provides. I would recommend Sydney and the team at Valley Dermatology not only based on the services they provide but their business practice.
When i walked in I was not greeted by the office staff and even as I talked they were not personable or polite or nice I almost walked out! Front staff needs to be changed with a new friendly attitude! Once I was greeted by the nurse, what a change and then I met with PA Erin and she is so kind truly caring and spent time with me! I couldn’t have asked for anybody better Then the nurse and PA Erin! Front staff still not welcoming! 5 stars for nurse and Erin and NO star for front end staff!
My experience w/Scott and Paul and the other staff, over several years, has been consistently positive. They treat me like an intelligent human being who understands his skin issues and can interact with his doctor astutely (there’s always a choice about treatment and the timing of it).
Very humiliating experience. Made an appointment with Dr. Scott A. Smith, came in with no make up and for those with severe acne that’s a feat people, I felt ugly already and now the world truly gets to see how ugly, anywho, didn’t wait too long in the waiting room to go into a tiny exam room and waited a lot longer there for the doctor. He finally came after about 15 or so minutes closed the door stood by the door with his arms crossed and asked, what the problem was (its pretty obvious and its stated on my chart that I had to fill out but ok) so I told him that my acne has been getting progressively worse etc etc mid 20’s adult and that seems abnormal and he the whole time kept his distance just nodded and I believe pretended to listen. I paused and he says, “I can give you “x drug”, yeah… I think “x drug” prescription will be ok”, “oh and I’ll throw in some sample acne creme”. Never did he actually come up and look at my skin at all, like my acne was contagious and he was afraid to catch the acne bug…really.. made me feel like a leper. “Any other concerns?” he asks after curing my acne with a super thought out prescription (sarcasm). so I asked about some suspicious looking moles if they looked cancerous, he just leans in from his spot at the door 5 feet away and says, “uhhh look ok” and thats it he was done left the room and his assistant gave me the things ….. seems like he doesn’t care about his job too much, maybe its all about the money to him, i don’t know but I wouldn’t recommend him very highly. Kind of came off as a jerk to me.
