Sonja is amazing! I recommend this place to all my friends– every spa treatment has been better than the last and they carry a phenomenal product line. Enjoy a nice cup of tea, a friendly staff and a flawless experience.
I’ve been getting the sugaring packages here for the last year or so and it’s probably one of the best deals you can ask for. Their service is always stellar!

I have gone to Penelope and the Beauty Bar a few times. I love that they have sugar waxing, it’s a much safer waxing process. They staff has always been friendly and kind. I enjoy the overall atmosphere of their salon as well. The location is a little difficult. I don’t live down town, so I am less motivated to drive there for an appointment unless I plan on being there anyways. My friends and I have had a girls day there too and got pedicures. They were pretty accommodating, however, they didn’t have enough space for 4 pedicures, so it was a bit of a squeeze.
The first time I came the woman had my service wrong. So I had to come back for the correct service. It was all taken care of by the attentive front desk staff. I like it here but I wish they would serve bubbly and chocolates like some of the high end spas in SF. It just makes pampering a little more fun.
Love this salon. I like getting to my appointment 15 min early because they serve you tea or water and have a nice atmosphere to relax. The waxers/sugarers (not sure how to spell that) are INSANELY fast! Sometimes my sugar appointment will be over in 15 min flat –love it.
Always comfortable and professional. LOVE the ultimate facial- expensive, but by far the best facial I have ever had….I keep coming back for more!

This is my favorite spa in Seattle. It’s a block away from my work and I like to pop in for a massage or an eyelash/eyebrow tint. I always leave feeling beautiful and refreshed.
I’ve been to Penelope and the Beauty Bar for a massage, body wrap, manicure and pedicure. All services were wonderful. An elegant, clean spa, with warm and inviting staff. I highly recommend their pedicures, my toes looked perfectly shapped and colored.

I absolutely love Penelope & The Beauty Bar!! I bought a groupon for a Brazilian wax/sugar about a year ago and have been going back ever since! I always see Anthea and she is amazing! Does the job quick and efficiently, and always makes me feel super comfortable :). Tip: book your appointment a couple weeks in advance, they are so awesome they fill up quick!
I got my first sugaring done at Penelope & The Beauty Bar. It was an overall good experience, for how painful it was. The esthetician explained the entire process and kept the conversation going to keep my mind off the process.
Purchased a flash deal for a mani-pedi. Experience was nice, relaxing and not rushed. It was my first time having a dry mani-pedi.. definitely not your normal nail salon experience. Great location for those that live near or work downtown. Decided to give four stars since I have received appointment confirmations for someone else’s appt twice already (had to call and clarify that they were sending it to the wrong person).
Came here to get my eyebrows waxed in the fall! Great service, calm and relaxed atmosphere. The woman who did my eyebrows was great, she listened to my requests and didn’t make them too thin! I will definitely try to come back.

The wax was great… although I don’t necessarily recommend sugaring over a normal wax.
The massage was nice, but it wasn’t really firm enough. I should have spoken up and asked for more pressure, but it definitely seemed like more of a relaxation massage than a massage for relieving pain and knots.
A few people who work there are kind of snooty, but its still a nice experience, although very pricy.
Very friendly staff- beautiful décor inside. The yummy Seattle Chocolates placed all over the salon were a sweet bonus. My treatments were great; sugaring and a foot treatment. Will definitely go back.
