My hair appointment with Donna Studio was on time, great service, and a fantastic haircut!
Amazing service! Beautiful nails!
Was expecting alot from an Aveda salon. Ended up having an uneven cut, my head burned from an overly hot hair dryer and my hair styled in curls which was discussed as something that was not the best option for my hair type in my original consultation. Overall this was not a good experience.
My 3:45 appointment started 17 minutes late. It was then quite abbreviated, as I was there when the 4 pm appointment was also there. Possibly offering to reschedule at least one of us would have made for a better experience and less rushed.
I have been going to Studio Donna for the last couple years, have left positive reviews in the past and I absolutely loved my stylist!!
With that said, my last encounter was quite different. I had my usual return appointment booked, this time 8 weeks out because my gal was too booked to see me the regular 6-7 week interval. I received an email ONE day prior to my appointment that the salon had left several messages for me, my stylist was not available and a time was being held for me the following week. I immediately contacted the salon; the number they had was an landline from a few years ago, but I’ve received calls on my cell from the salon since getting rid of my landline?? The receptionist told me that my stylist had not worked at the salon for over a month!! I was SO disappointed!! They waited till the last minute to contact me for rescheduling and to let me know my stylist had left. I work the hours of two jobs – I can’t just re-book at their leisure. I felt incredibly unappreciated, I’m simple hurt over the experience.
There are so many options out there for salons, when you have a loyal client common courtesy goes a long way to keep them.
Quite disappointed this visit. This is about the 5th pedicure I have had with Tifany, who is great. The bad part is that I have scheduled a MANI/PEDI for 4 of the 5 visits; and somehow, by the time, I get to my appointment, the front desk has put me down for a PEDICURE omly. I came in last week thinking and planning for both as I have a big trip upcoming, and TIfany told me half-way through that I was only on HER books for a pedicure and she was booked solid. She did her best to accommodate my needs and the front desk offered me a slight discount, but what I really wanted was the FULL SPA EXPERIENCE.
The same day, I had a much needed hair color and cut. My usual stylist is out on maternity leave and I was put with another person, Rachel, who I didn’t know. I was very nervous with a new person as I have had a lot of bad experiences with people who didn’t know what they were doing.
I think, for the most part, my cut is okay. I am working it out although, there are some areas that are very difficult to style. The color is good and Rachael listened to me about toning down the blond.
But, and I am trying to say this in the nicest way possible, I have never had a stylist who talked NON-STOP. My appointment dragged on for THREE HOURS — I was exhausted by her endless chatter and opinions by the time we got through. It would not have taken THREE hours if she had not stopped to talk so much. I don’t mind chit-chat as we are both there in such an intimate situation, but this was just incredible.
I am quite frustrated at the moment as I don’t know what to do next. My regular stylist won’t be back for another few months and I am not certain I want to go through that again.
Hopefully, she will see this and relax and mellow out a bit and that my scheduled MANI-PEDI will really be the full works next time!
Enjoyed it!!
My wife had an appointment for a haircut during the day, when the salon was essentially empty. Her stylist didn’t listen to or understand what she wanted, cut way more off than she wanted, and then wouldn’t take the time to fix it when my wife was obviously disappointed with the result. The owner agreed with the stylist that it wasn’t worth fixing because the stylist would have to start over and would take too much time to fix.
I had a horrific experience at this salon. I set up my bridal trial appointment and arrived on time, however my stylist was finishing up with another appointment so I had to wait about 30 minutes. Once the appointment finally started, the stylist spent about 15 minutes talking about how greasy my hair was and how if I didn’t wash it better for the day of the wedding then the style wouldn’t hold. I had also told the wedding appointment booker (I believe her name is Kristina) over the phone that I planned to use extensions and she said that would be fine and no additional cost since I was providing my own and they wouldn’t be difficult to put in. However, at my appointment she said I never told her I was bringing extensions and that if I wanted them put in I would have to pay an extra $80 for the stylist to put them in since it would take additional time. I decided not to pay the extra money and just get them put in on the day of since I had no written proof. Fast forward to my hair being done, it turned out alright. However it was kind of messy but the stylist assured me that it would look better on the day of and fuller with the extensions added.
If I wasn’t already upset enough, next came my makeup trial. The same stylist who did my hair was doing my makeup and overall it looked great, except she made my eyebrows too dark and thick (she used black instead of dark brown). However, basically from the beginning of my makeup trial she was running behind (I’m assuming because she was 30 minutes behind for my appointment) and the SALON OWNER made her leave halfway through my makeup to take her next client – so she had the FRONT DESK PERSON come and ‘finish my makeup’ (I believe I mostly just had eyeliner and lipstick left). She had no idea whatsoever how to do other people’s makeup (hers looked OK). I told her I wanted to have a winged look and she took about 30 minutes trying to do it with a pencil and gel liner (they didn’t have liquid 😐) in the end it looked like I had let a child draw on my eyeliner and they had channeled their inner child. I told her I didn’t like it and she tried again, but with the same outcome. So now, about an hour and a half later (just trying to do my eyeliner???) I told her to just wipe it off and I would do my own eyeliner. By that time, my original stylist had finished with her other client and came back to check on us. She basically had to re-apply my eye makeup and foundation around my eyes since the other lady had to wipe it off to redo my liner. I left the salon pretty angry and extremely disappointed in my experience. However, when I was able to get home and add some of my touches (liner, highlight, etc). It looked pretty good. I give prop to the stylist for trying to salvage my makeup, but overall I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and in fact chose to cancel my wedding services because of this experience and had to scramble to find someone else. Overall, it seems like their usual customers are satisfied, but if you are looking for a wedding hair and makeup artist, I would not use this salon. If you can pay about the same (or a little more) to have someone travel to you then it’s worth it!
I have been a customer for several years and continue to enjoy this upscale salon. The salon itself is a beautiful and serene invironment . The staff is very professional and every effort is made to make sure you are comfortable. I never feel rushed or unheard. Randa is my stylist, and I am so glad I found her…The entire staff from receptionist to stylist are topnotch.
Went to get my hair cut + colored for the first time at Studio Donna. My mom has been a long time client and highly recommended. Had an appointment at 12:45PM on a Saturday. When I got there, the receptionist said they had tried to call me and that they needed to reschedule (yet I had no missed calls?). They moved me down to a 1:45PM the same day which was fine. However, when I showed up at 1:45PM, they were running late, and I wasn’t taken back until 2:35PM! Rachel (the stylist) was super sweet and did a nice job. Kudos to her to not making it a complete waste of a sunny, Saturday afternoon. However, I was still charged the full price for my appointment, despite nearly 2 hours of waiting around doing nothing! I’m not one to complain and I always give people the benefit of the doubt, but this was just ridiculous. I probably won’t ever be going back and would not recommend going if you have anything planned for a 5 hours gap.
