  • Update: After their lip-service response below, the best option they could provide to “make things right” was to admit their standard practice is to surprise bill patients and send predatory bills for procedures you don’t consent to, but in the future they would “put a note in your chart to NOT proceed with any type of procedure/surgery without informing you that there will be an extra charge.”

Be aware of surprise billing and having a medical diagnosis not clarified until after billing occurs so they can upcode your treatment and take more money from you and your insurance provider. I went in for a small growth on my elbow, which wound up being nothing but a “cosmetic issue”. The Dr (Gina Mower) told me it wasn’t an issue and offered to blast it with some cold air to see if it would help it go away. I agreed to this casual service since the Dr assured me it was just a cosmetic issue. A month later I received a bill for a surgical procedure that required a portion of my deductible to pay. I called the office 9 times over the course of a month to try to get clarification from the office or billing department. The staff kept telling me they would call me back, but never did. Once I finally got ahold of someone in the billing department, the representative informed me that it was “medically necessary” because the growth was a “wart” – despite the Dr clearly telling me it was a only a cosmetic issue in the visit. I was not informed of this “medically necessary” reason until my 7th phone call with the office and well after I was billed for a medically unnecessary service that I would have declined had I known it was a procedure I would have my deductible billed for. This seems like extortion and there’s no recourse for a patient who was not given the opportunity to provide informed consent for treatment. Billing for this procedure for cosmetic removal is fraudulent, the office is required to provide medically necessary reasoning for performing the procedure and they are manipulating the system by providing diagnosis after the procedure is completed and not informing the patient until after the bill is sent.

  • Didn’t want to even give 1 star

I went to this office six or seven times for my son’s acne treatment.  It was fine until the last appointment when my son and I went to the examining room and the nurse assistant came in and asked about his acne.  My son said it was fine and I said it was getting worse.  She asked my son if he wanted to be alone.  He said yes and she asked me to leave the room.  I was surprised.  He is  only16  and he didn’t want to get acne treatment.  Heather Haberman  I didn’t see a doctor who gave me an explanation of  the exam, what medicine was prescribed or when we should come back for a follow-up.  My son didn’t tell me what was said in the appointment.  That is not my son’s job.  He is a minor and the nurse assistant should have told me personally the results of the visit because she is the one who told me to leave the room.  Heather should have known I was there and told me personally what was said in the visit.

I do not want to see the nurse assistant again and be told to leave the room before my minor son sees the practitioner.

  • Had a great medical surgery here. Highly recommend. Friendly staff and no pain.

  • Right off the bat. I’m impressed with this facility and their staff. The last dermatologist I went to was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life. I was turned off to going to a dermatologist because of this and because of that I continued to suffer with psoriasis without a diagnosis. I’m so grateful for this staff and this facility and I’m looking forward to getting my problems under control

  • Dr Levy is great, first day I saw him he took care of my light skin and told me how to take care of it. Without him I wonder what may have developed. Edit: 9/15/2020- Thanks Dr. Levy for 25 years today! Happy anniversary!

  • My first appointment were good and doctor was friendly. The follow up appointment I came late by 10 minutes and doctor cancelled the appointment without any notice. To make a point it takes 25 -30 min for me to come to the place and that too on a working day . I have to take 2 hours leave . The round trip from uber itself costs about 100 dollars itself. This is so unprofessional.

  • Heather Haberman seems like she was not sure what she was doing. Nice lady but the prescriptions that she prescribed were wrong and made my condition worse. She seemed a bit embarrassed when I corrected her and got defensive.

  • Our first appointment was fine. The doctor was professional, friendly and helpful. However, just before our follow-up appointment, I was informed that my son’s appointment was being canceled because of his insurance. Mind, we aren’t using insurance. We are cash patients. We paid cash for for the first appointment and were planning to pay cash for the second appointment. But because of who my son is insured with, we weren’t welcomed back. I’m in the medical field and I handle insurance claims every day. I’ve never heard of a practice turning away cash patients.

  • Completely deceptive billing practices.

  • One of PA prescribed me Isotretinoin for acne. She told me to use it under eyes for preventing wrinkles. After using Isotretinoin for 5 months, I am in excruciating pain now
Suffering with severe dry eyes. I am in pain every day. My eye doctor told me never use any retinoids under eyes. Thanks to your incompetent staff. I wish I would have never gone there.

  • Nice office, spotless, and staff is very helpful love my Botox 😁

  • I have been to theor Burien location several times now for various procedures from a full body check to mole removal. Every staff person has been kind, helpful, courteous, and professional. Their office is clean and they enacted COVID precautions quickly in response to the up tick in cases to help ensure decreased contact with others while still keeping scheduled appointments.

This is my new home for all of my dermatology needs!

  • I have had mixed experiences and will be looking for a new dermatologist office. First what was great, the physician assistants have all been stellar and their body scans and minor mole removal were all very good and they accepted/billed my insurance.

Not good: couple years ago I had Dr Levy remove a large lipoma from my armpit during the procedure he was unable to get and keep me numb even though he gave me several shots. I felt a lot of pain throughout the whole procedure especially the cutting and cauterizing. I cried a lot and shook during the very long painful procedure. He did not allow me to have an advocate/support person present in the room and did not give me anything for pain afterwards either (he should have called my doctor for a pain prescription if he can’t give one and he should not have tried the procedure under a local when he felt it was going to be more complicated he should have stopped.) No one from his office followed up on what was a traumatic painful experience other than to check my wound and say I was physically healing fine.

I tried one more time only his office so close to my home and just a mole issue this week. His receptionist was wearing their mask below their nose.

I thought I was going to see one of his great PAs but they switched me last minute and unknown to me to see Dr Levy. Dr Levy wore his mask below his nose then he argued that his nose wasn’t out even though I clearly saw it and mentioned it to him.

Then he halfway tucked his nose into his mask and dismissed my concern because of his vaxx status which doesn’t prevent him from getting covid and giving to others, it prevents him from getting sick and dying. And then he referred my spouse as my friend, pointed out my mobility aids (canes) and my hair loss. My visit was about two moles not about my arthritis and perimenopause. The last thing his assistant didn’t ask my gown size and I offered me one that only covered half of me. I would not recommend Dr Levy to others. I wish the best to his PAs especially Gina who was excellent and compassionate.

  • Dr. Levy was attentive and friendly; I liked him right away. His examination was thorough: arms, neck, and scalp. He answered all of my questions, in a way that I could understand. I asked about removing a red dot on my nose. He made sure I knew that insurance wouldn’t cover it, and told me the out-of-pocket price. Later, when I requested it, he had the equipment brought in and explained how it worked, exclaiming, “I love doing laser work!”. Such passion is nice.

Later in the day. I got a phone call from my pharmacy telling me my prescription was in. What prescription? By whom? Dr. Levy had prescribed a special shampoo for me to try, without telling me about it. Still, that and the front office slowness (short one employee) were the only negatives of the experience. Two to three weeks later, the tiny scab from my laser work vanished, leaving me minus one red dot, and quite pleased.

  • I was looking for a dermatologist near home and found Dr. Levy’s office in Burien. First impression is very important to me and his office did not disappoint. Free parking (always a plus!), good location, checking in was quick and easy, esthetician/medical assistant was very friendly and Dr. Levy was very informative! One reason why I wanted to see a dermatologist was because I wanted to remove my skin tag that grew over the past couple years on the rim of my nostril. I thought I had to come back for another appointment but he was ready to remove it on the spot!

  • Such a wonderful atmosphere! No shame for terrible athletes foot & a painless, quick procedure was performed. I know where to go with any dermatology concerns.Thank you!

  • Unfortunately, I will not be returning to the Dermatology of Seattle. I showed up at 2:19 for a 2:10 appointment due to traffic out of my control and had to wait until 2:30 to be told Dr. Haberman wouldn’t be able to see me until 3:30. Hard to understand given that the first appointment lasted 5 minutes with Dr. Haberman looking at my skin for about 2 seconds. Dr. Haberman was also not able to answer any of my questions regarding perioral dermatitis and instead prescribed me medication and sent me on my way. The front desk assistant had her mask down on her chin for the second time in a row as well, which made me uncomfortable.
