I had a laser hair removal appointment. The appointment went more quickly than originally estimated. With a cooling gel, the pain during the procedure was mild. My technician, Crystal, was friendly.
I scheduled an appointment for 2:00pm and arrived at 1:50pm. The office was closed and locked. I waited around for about 15 minutes with no luck.
I came a long way for this appointment and am pretty disappointed that I came all this way for nothing. I received no communication that my appointment had been cancelled or that the office would be closed.
I don’t appreciate my time being wasted and would recommend others not to waste theirs at this establishment.
A review of results after 1 year:
I feel bad leaving a negative review because the technicians who I met were SO nice, but the treatment was only about 10% effective. I paid over $3000 total for laser hair removal services. While I noticed a reduction/slowing in hair growth initially, it was pretty much pointless because about 1 year later it was back to 90% of what it used to be. 10% reduction is not worth it IMO. It’s been 2 years, and here are my current results:
Arms – no difference/reduction
Legs/elsewhere – 10% reduction overall, but on darker areas like knees there’s no difference.
Laser hair removal works specifically by targeting the pigment in your hair, and the setting the technician uses makes or breaks the efficacy of the treatment. The uneven hair reduction (e.g. knees are basically the same as ever) shows that there was no adjustment/consideration of the skin tone variation – just went over the whole area with a single setting. I have pretty light Indian toned skin with good contrast, but I still had really poor results, so if you’re anything other than pale/very white with dark hair I would strongly reconsider coming here.
I’m so sad because I invested a lot of time and money here given the positive reviews, but my honest results were negligible. A lot of the reviews here are short-term and incentivized (they give people $20 off for leaving a positive review) – so I would take them with a grain of salt.
I’m in the process of finding a new aesthetician/dermatologist to redo all the areas that were treated at Serenity because I didn’t get the permanent results I was looking for/expected with laser hair removal. Some people have! But just be aware that, at least in some cases, you could still have 90-100% hair growth after everything.
I’m leaving 2 stars because the staff here were so pleasant.
Honestly I’m very surprised how this place has good reviews. I was greeted with no one walking in for my appointment. The technician did not seem prepared and confident in what she was doing. I called multiple times to get a receipt, and never received one after two weeks of calling. I’ve gone to the center and the doors were locked in the middle of the work day. Do not come here for laser hair removal!
This work environment is completely unprofessional. You ask why?
1. The receptionist and wife of the doctor, Has no license to be working with lasers, Meaning she could easily hurt or blind a patient.
3. The Doctor has serious anger problems and probably needs to take some angry management classes. He scares all of the staff and patients that are there.
4. The Doctor is very touchy and feely to his staff, Which completely makes them uncomfortable.
This place needs to be completely shutdown and reported. Do NOT work at this place. And I do not recommend going to the place, It could cost you getting seriously injured.
I am having Picosure treatments for dark spots on my face. Dr O’Connell does terrific work. I am super pleased with the outcome so far. Overall, I rated Serenity Rejuvenation Center 4 stars due to poor communication of scheduling snafus. Otherwise the treatment is 5 star.
My tattoos are actually gone. Omg I love this place, fits perfectly with my schedule and I’m just in awe. Would recommend to anyone if your still looking through options look no more this is the number one tattoo removal spot in Washington
I have had multiple procedures done here: PicoSure tattoo removal, and in about 4 sessions, I had complete removal of my tattoos. I’ve also had Botox done and with both procedures, I had good experiences with communication, assurance, and results. They are also very accommodating with scheduling, very kind, and professional. I look forward to having even more procedures done here.
Old laser, not effective hair treatment. Disappointing
After only four PicoSure laser treatments my upper back tattoo is gone! The office staff are great and pricing was very fair. Hopefully I won’t need additional tattoo removal work in the future, but I’ll definitely return if I do!
I totally recommend Serenity rejuvenation center!! I been getting laser hair removal since December 2019 and since the first session I saw a difference. It doesn’t hurt as much as everyone thinks and is totally worth it!!
The staff is the best! Biba and Youngree are super sweet and professional! And Dr. O’Connell he is so nice and always making sure you are satisfied with results!

I went here for my first tattoo removal session. The doctor fit me into the schedule very quickly. He spent time explaining the PicoSure removal. He spend a good amount of time explaining aftercare. The procedure was quick and professional. I did have a lot of blistering and swelling immediately afterwards (which could be my skin). I got some results not as much as I was hoping for which is not their fault. I’ve been to other clinics with PicoSure and I just think this one was a bit more expensive. My tattoo is script so it’s not very solid. So great doctor friendly staff easy scheduling.
Went in for a laser tattoo removal consultation and the lady basically told me I was to dark to get a laser tattoo removal treatment and basically was acting as if she couldn’t do it for me. Wasted my time! If you don’t do laser treatments for darker skinned people, then let it be known before you waste their time!
I urge you to be very careful with your treatment counts when you buy packages for series of treatments. Apparently they have a total mess with tracking payments and treatments. As they admitted themselves they keep track of payments and treatments in two separate systems! I had one more treatment left from the package of three treatments, but upon arrival the manager started convincing me that my treatments are over because I did not pay for a treatment from previous package a couple of months ago!!! After long debate they provided the treatment but left me upset and feeling like I stole from the place. Also there is a big turnover of technicians so I am looking for a new place!
I went to Serenity Rejuvenation Center in October of 2019 for a consultation for the Mira Dry treatment. I was really nervous but felt like the procedure was necessary as my under arm sweating was out of control. Dr. O’Connell and his staff were able to answer all of my questions and ease my anxiety. The procedure went how it was explained and Dr. O’Connell and his staff made me as comfortable as possible. Dr. O’Connell followed up with a call a few days after. It was greatly appreciated to have the extra support. I highly recommend at least a consultation at this facility as there was no pressure, just good information.
